Eiwa helps the Farming Ecosystem develop and adopt new farm inputs, management practices and digital services.

WHY WE INVESTED

Xperiment invested in EIWA because the company’s digital solution for the farm input ecosystem aligns with Xperiment’s investment focus on AgTech companies. EIWA’s technology, images, and data enable field information and data knowledge management in a simple and reliable platform, which helps to accelerate the development and market deployment of farm inputs. EIWA is poised to be one of the most important players in organizing siloed data in agriculture, a massive opportunity to build from that foundation and get insights to increase production and reduce costs. Eiwa Vault their new product is ready to expand beyond initial market and be an industry wide solution.

About them

We are an AgTech focused on Digital Transformation required by the Farm Input Ecosystem. We combine technology, images and data, enabling field information and data knowledge management in a simple and reliable framework focused on faster product development cycles and accelerated market deployment of Farm Inputs.

The Inside Story

EIWA was founded in by Nicolas Otamendi and Marcelo Gowland, two old time friends with passion to solve complex challenges.

The company’s initial focus was on providing a platform for agronomists to build their own conclusions based on data and share the insights with others. They quickly realized that the biggest obstacle in the way of achieving this goal was the siloed data within and across organizations that slowed down the development of agronomic knowledge.

To address this problem, they developed EIWA Vault, a SaaS data cloud that helps companies centralize massive amounts of data and extract the most value out of it. Xperiment worked closely with EIWA in defining the product and expanding the total addressable market.

With Eiwa Vault, EIWA helps agronomists to build their own conclusions based on data and share the insights with others. From simple correlations between agronomic traits, to the development of more complex predictive or prescriptive models.

EIWA has experienced strong traction in the market, achieving $1.2MM ARR, managing 70% of global soybean trialing plots, and achieving global market leadership in the initial beachhead market of soybean breeding. The company has operations in Argentina, Brazil, and the US, and has a sticky product with good annual recurring revenue retention within the breeding segment.

Today, EIWA continues to grow and expand its offerings, working to mobilize the world’s agronomic knowledge and empower farmers, agronomists, and data scientists around the world with the tools they need to analyze farm input performance, management practices, and environmental impact.
